The Parish Scribes are a group of parishioners who are helping complete the monumentous task of transcribing all of the baptismal records of the parish. St. Peter the Fisherman Parish, when it was incorporated into a Cluster Parish, inherited all of the sacramental record books from the three churches in the cluster: Sacred Heart, Holy Name, and St. Michael. These records go back more than 100 yrs. Because they are records from what was once different parishes, it can be rather difficult at times to find baptismal, confirmation, or marriage records. The Parish Scribes are coming together to transcribe all of the baptismal records into chronological order in a new baptismal register. This will serve to make it much easier to find old records and record new ones. Organization and efficiency is the goal. If you are interested in joining the Parish Scribes, please contact Fr. Philip at [email protected].
